Wax Poetics Magazine

Wax Poetics is a magazine for the hardcore and avid record collector. The magazine focus mostly on black music from Jazz to funk, from rock to hp hop and back.
The thing I also love about this magazine is it also discusses the culture that surrounds this music as well, so you get interviews with prodoucers, writers, artists and personalities that contributed to the culture.
This is the current issue, which gave me a kick because I grew up in Ohio. But more than that my mother's best friend was married to one of the Players for a while. The OP's were one of the most influential bands of the time, and will always be duplicated and copied on a subconscious level for centuries to come.
The WP store also has t shirts, hoodies, books, anthologies, vinyl, DVDs, bags and reviews. It's just about everything you could want to know as much as possible about the roots of black music culture. A copy of WP can run you about $10 and you can order from the site. You can order back issues for about $12. Products on the site can run anywhere from $10 to $100 depending.
Roll by and check them out @
